Jacob Tate has served in the Yakima County Assessor's Office for more than 30 years, beginning in entry-level work and advancing through operational, technical, valuation, and leadership roles before becoming Assessor in 2023.

It requires understanding valuation standards, property records, state reporting, public communication, software systems, tax district interactions, exemptions, appeals, the Washington State Constitution, relevant statutes and the daily work required to keep the office functioning efficiently.
